My Firewood Friends is a local business, but it is also a reflection of the people, communities, and causes that matter to me. The organizations featured below are causes I support, admire, or feel personally connected to.
The Arjun Gupta Foundation
Arjun Gupta was a friend, fellow squash player, and respected member of Toronto's squash community. Following his passing, the Arjun Gupta Foundation was established to honour his life and legacy.
The Foundation supports opportunities in athletics, academics, and employment, reflecting Arjun's belief in helping others reach their potential. Its initiatives include athlete bursaries, scholarships, and programs designed to create opportunities for young people and underserved communities.
I was honoured to attend the Foundation's launch event and am proud to support its mission. More than a charitable organization, it is a way of continuing the legacy of a friend whose generosity, kindness, and impact on the people around him are still felt today.
Fred Victor
For more than a century, Fred Victor has worked to help people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and housing insecurity in Toronto.
Through housing programs, employment services, health supports, and community initiatives, Fred Victor helps individuals build stability and create brighter futures. Their work addresses immediate needs while also creating opportunities for long-term success.
I admire the practical and compassionate approach Fred Victor takes in serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Their work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of Torontonians each year.
Breakthrough T1D
Breakthrough T1D is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Type 1 diabetes while advancing research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Through research funding, advocacy, education, and community support, the organization helps individuals and families navigate the challenges of living with Type 1 diabetes while working toward a future free from the disease.
I admire the organization's commitment to innovation, scientific research, and improving quality of life for those affected by Type 1 diabetes.
